Live and Real

Jon-Rae keeps getting better and better. While I was skeptical of his move to Toronto which I've previous lambasted as the home of terrible boring music, somehow the opposite thing happened for JR. He has found a group of musicians that work fantastically with him, and the audiences to appreciate it! Good on you Toronto! This is a live track I grabbed from B(oot)log [follow the link for the whole show]. This song starts as a Jon-Rae song used to start, then it explodes. Really Jon-Rae has managed to transcend his genre.

Toronto is "the home of terrible, boring music"?

Wow. You're out of your mind. Remind me never to read one of your posts again.

I don't really care if you read my posts. Not that I even know who "you" are--anonymous coward.

For the record, I was giving Toronto praise for debunking my expectations. If you actually read the post you would have realized that.

I'm a coward? Because I don't use my real name? Are you familiar with the Internet? And by the way, "Jay" doesn't really tell me much about who you are either, dipshit.

And I did read your post. I'm glad that you like Jon-Rae, but the mere expectation that music from Toronto wouldn't be good is insane. Way too big a place, with way too many different and unique bands for you to paint it with that brush.

I'm late to weigh in on this... I like to think that at least some of Jay's skepticism toward Ontario has to do with me and friendly geographic rivalry! Don't even get me started on Vancouver.

I'm going to have to agree with zipzap..etc.

Toronto has produced some of the best and most diverse music of the past five years. Live there for a week and I'm sure you will understand.
