While in Montreal, after Mousy Connection died, Daddy's Hands was virtually unbookable since Dave didn't have a phone. When they did play, the music was still amazingly forward looking. I quite clearly recall all the Victoria people singing Queen Anne/I Know/I'll see you in hell.

thank you so much for posting everything you have. you're amazing!
do you have any more photos of dave or daddy's hands playing?
hello my name is chris. i posted already today in the below thread regarding dave and his bands M BLANKET,ACHE HOUR CREDO and DADDYS HANDS. I run a punk label called Fans Of bad Productions and do a radio show called The Imperfection Hours in Kingston at CFRC.CA. Tomorrow afternoon however(DEC 7)at 1:30 EST I am filling in for a fellow DJ. I will be broadcasting a 90 minute show dedicated entirely to Dave and his bands. I have original copies of all this amazing stuff and if you get a chance tune in live on-line at WWW.CFRC.CA at 1:30 EST. If you miss this airing however fear not. You will be able to download the segment in the archive section for a period of 3 months after the original broadcast. I will be recording the show onto a disc and will gladly send anyone a copy free-just send me a blank disc and $2 in stamps. My address is 64 John st,Kingston,ON,K7K 1S9,CANADA
The music of Dave is obscure an hard to get(especially from original sources)it won't be forgotten.
Regards,
Chris

I have some more Daddy's hands photos ( all from around 1998?) I'll try and get some more scanned if there is an interest.
RE: PHOTOS
Jay, that would be most appreciated!
chris here again...just getting home after doing the radio show dedicated to dave. if you want to listen to an archive of the show go to www.cfrc.ca. go to the archive section and punch up dec 7 at 13:00 and 14:00. the show actually starts at 13:30 but you can only download one hour blocks. i also recorded the show onto CD so if you want a copy send me a blank CDR and $2 in stamps. it features great and rare tracks from M Blanket,Ache Hour Credo and Daddys Hands.

RIP Dave
Wow.
I'm ashamed to say that I'd never heard of Daddy's Hands until you posted about them, but I've downloaded everything you linked and it's been a long time since I've heard anything this good.
Fuckin' brilliant. His death is truly a tragedy, I wish I'd heard about them when he was alive so I could have seen them play.
just listened to chris iler's tribute show and it was such a treat. i've never heard all these impossible-to-find M Blanket songs before. thank you so much for taking the time to do this, chris. dave's music won't be forgotten, thanks to people like you.
the montreal mirror ran a piece on dave last week
here's the link

Been listening to Chris's show... great to hear the old songs again. M Blanket was the most memorable band for me as they were a huge part of introducing me to the punk scene in Victoria in the mid 90's. I have a ton of these early songs, and didn't realize just how lucky I am to have them... the 2 7-inches of M Blanket, and the Fuck the Commonwealth and "Go - 47 Canadian Hardcore Bands" comps too (thanks for those Chris!) I had a radio show called "Capital Scene" on CKMO 103.1 at Camosun in Victoria for a while, and Dave's music was always a part of the show. Spent some time with him at the John St. house back then too... he will obviously be missed tremendously by all who encountered him over the years. Sad to lose him. Chris - your radio show was a real treat, and an amazing trip down memory lane!
:-)
cheers!
thanks for all these great posts and stuff about dave and daddys hands and i sadly fall into the group of people who discovered him from his death, which really sucks, but hes really fucking brilliarnt.
aside from that, someone really needs to make a dave wenger site with photos, info on different bands and stuff, or atleast a wikipedia page which i would make if i knew anything. just to hold photos i have a shitty little atlas strategic site for school, http://www.mvrhs.org:16080/f-period/kendall/atlas-strategic/ for school meaning theres really no limit to how much i put on it if people would want to send photos to me, mikqick@gmail.com i could make some sort of photo-site thing.
