Melody

Via Flashcube, here's an impressive film adaptation of Serge Gainsbourg's "Melody", arguably one of the most sexually charged songs ever written about a car accident.

Think what you want about lines like " J'aperçus une roue de vélo à l'avant/ Qui continuait de rouler en roue libre/Et comme une poupée qui perdait l'équilibre/ La jupe retroussée sur ses pantalons blancs" (english translation), but even if you're not a big fan of Gainsbourg's kind of creepy, sometimes borderline-misogynist lyrics, it's hard to deny the almost-perfection of pretty everything else about this song. I'm much too tired to think of anything insightful to say about this video right now, but I especially love how Melody Nelson can't help but smile seductively at the extremely smarmy-looking guy that just ran her over.

Kids too young will never know how lucky small-town fucks like me are to have the internet - home to pedophiles, rip-off artists, liars, adulterers, jerks of all trades, but also thankfully home to people who post Serge Gainsbourg videos.
