Put A Penny In The Slot
Two minutes after hearing Fionn Regan's song "Put A Penny in the slot" on StG I had hit the submit button to have the album The End of history express mailed to me from the UK. Fionn (say "finn") comes off more Fairtale era Donovan than Dylan. He has the right combination of voice timber, witty lyrics and guitar aptitude that make him shine amongst the mass of singer-songwriters. In all likelihood we are going to be hearing a lot more about Fionn Regan pretty soon, and rightly so judging by the fact that every song on this album is fantastic. He happens to be one of those people who make good music that also has that mass appeal quality.

I liked the song. Reminded a little like the style of bright eyes, and hopefully could have a Leonard Cohen feel in some time. I will check for more of his music.
This is quite a sweet video, but if you see him live, he's working with a pretty wild drummer, which kind of beefs up the sound a little and, for me, makes him stand out from a number of other singer/songwriters.
Good vid, though, cheers

I love this song and have found it a perfect autmn soundtrack for walking and watching the leaves change. Thank you for introducing me to Fionn...
Fionn, say Fee-yun. ;)
You're right though, he's lovely. Check out the early song 'After the Fall' if you can - incredible
this is a great song but is better live!
Hey, I'm a singer-songwriter hater, but Fionn is OK. He's also from my hometown and writes about it a lot, which is great (Bray, County Wicklow, in case anyone was wondering).
FYI Fionn is not pronounced Finn. It's pronounced Ff-yunn.
