Gayrilla Biscuits, Black Fag, Youth of Togay.
A few motivations:
Ninja High School is playing a last minute house show in Vancouver (Castle in the Clouds - 152 W. Hastings, 8pm) which is well worth attending. You're not convinced? Well: ________________
LA people: Fuck Yeah Fest
Skort is 100% pure distilled Vancouver and will win this year's Shindig (Vancouver's ultra legitimate battle of the bands). They'll be all over Alberta over the next few days so please go see them/talk to them!
Finally, The Kids. Although the internet is a bit short on biographical information on the group, I can tell you that they were from Edmonton, their record came out in the mid 70's and it's a slice of pop genius.

what's the name of the kids album? I looked on all music guide and they weren't even listed.
the kids album is self-titled. It came out on heart records (I did a google search and still came up with nothing). It has very little information on the sleeve. Also, they were from Calgary, not Edmonton as I previously thought.
That KIds album is starting to get noticed by power-pop fans in Europe and Japan. In 5 years, people will be going apeshit over it (after all the really decent stuff has been comped and reissed)
If anyone needs a copy...drop me a line at:

I picked up a spare copy today.
