CiTR presents:
Live at Thunderbird Radio Hell happens every week on CiTR 101.9 Fm in Vancouver B.C. Canada. For almost 20 years, touring and local bands have been put to tape while giging in the staff lounge and enduring the various hosts, namely Nardwuar, Evan Symons and the more subdued current organisers. The list of bands is impressive (especially to those mid 90's Vancouver-philes like myself): The Headcoats, Bum, Cub, Daddy's Hands, DBS, Gaze, Gob, July 4th Toilet, Maow, The Spaceshits, Submission Hold, The Tonics, The Evaporators, The Smugglers and... Destroyer. These tracks are from a late Thursday night in 1996.

I thought you were joking about the "stupidly rare" destroyer tracks! I think we've now established some stalker worthy destroyer internets-cred.
In the year I was holed-up in UBC residence, Thunderbird Radio Hell was one of the many CiTR shows that introduced me to the - in retrospect - amazing vancouver music scene of the late 1990s. I loved how the show was always a semi-catastrophic shambles at the best of times. After I moved off of campus, though, I could never get CiTR in any of my basement suite apartments. Thanks for this.
the tonics!!!!!!
now there's a band I miss....
4, 8, and 9? Doesn't that mean there are more of these tracks hiding? You guys better not be keeping stuff from us :(
And I still want to know where those extra 3 songs from Ideas for Songs ever came from, and where the remaining 5 are.
And #4 is Mending Song. #8 is You Were So Cruel, #9 is Breakin' the Law.
My gosh -- so many thanks.
I will pay cash money for more of these.
Also: Beg.
That stuff is golden!!
Thanks!
Hey Dave. Is that where you got the turtle/snail joke?
many great miles from the turtle snail joke.
i tried to convince CiTR people that they should put out a comp of LTRH sessions - if not for the music, for the awesome banter. 'Black Snake' from Sexareenos/Spaceshits talk about his 'oils' for sale. The headcoats fight on air. the salteens come across as witty and cool. even gob has some funny things to say. anyways, for the vancouver people, these sessions were all archived to cd in the CiTR library and i'm sure that they would not oppose to you copying them. they are worth the effort!
The CiTR people have been really helpful and will probably listen to suggestions like that. They let us have the mp3s from LTRH when ARCTIC performed on the 23rd, and we've got them posted up on the site at http://www.projectarctic.com/listen.php . Very kind of them.
