Imogen Heap
While an underlying focus of Popsheep is to share music that does not receive attention elsewhere it is also a musical diary of sorts. Music that I love, music that plays on radio Jay non-stop. Sometimes I like to point out the obvious, as it is really the sort of thing that I always miss. I heard this song on the season finale of The OC, insult me as you please. I almost decided to post this song in an anonymous fashion so your ears would be more open.
I love great singers, and by great I don't always mean perfect. The keyboard line follows the vocals note for note, almost blending, this is aided by what I suspect is digital modification of the vocals. The volume is shaped to match the keyboard. It is as if Imogen is playing her own voice with a keyboard. Nothing else clutters the song, just voice and keyboards. It haunts me.

That song is forever tainted by the OC's badness for me. Watching that show is like picking at an old scab that refuses to heal. I vow to flee the room the next time it comes on the television.
All this coming from a survivor fan! Regardless this is a good song, I dare you to rip it apart!
Jay, I'm not sold on either the song or the show. You're going to have to work harder!
I dare you to watch season one of the OC from start to finish and not be hooked. Oh and you must watch it on dvd and finish the whole season in a month.
How can I work any harder to make you love this song?! It is great! Listen again!
as unfourtunate as it is that it was played on the OC it still is an amazing song, the vocals and keyboard. flow so perfectly through the song, it cant even be tainted by the fact it was played on that show... the harmonics in the song actually trigger emotions when i listen to it. this song has changed my life

I first time I heard this song was on The O.C, and it sounded amazing. It suited the scene brilliantly, and topped off the end of the last episode of the series. I love the O.C, but I can see exactly why a lot of people wouldn't, as it is full of steriotypical rich bitches and bad guys! Didn't stop me getting hooked though...
I have to say that when I first turned it on, I didn't really care for it. I skipped it almost right away. And then I thought about it and WOW, I cannot even describe what this song has done to me. I can't STOP playing it over and over.
And I didn't even see the O.C.. I found Imogen from Garden State. AWESOME SONG!
